A few watercolor swatches…
Daniel Smith, Winsor & Newton, American Journey and Jackson’s watercolors.

That’s a nice selection of blues. I have the DS cobalt teal and it mixes interesting greens with DS lemon yellow. 🙂
Thank you. DS Lemon Yellow is a recent acquisition yet to be fully explored. Will give it the attention it deserves over the next few days. 😉
Do you have any recommendations for watercolors that “break”? I have a tube of mijello blue that breaks amazingly, and I want more like it.
Interested in inks that break when used for washes, too – I have Private Reserve Purple Ebony, which will break into turquoise and pink with some work.
I read that Daniel Smith Ultramarine Rose does. Check the online swatch. Better yet, order the Daniel Smith paint dots to see how they work for you.
Oh, that’s a great idea – thanks!
It’s a never ending process, Martha, and luckily one I thoroughly enjoy. Do you make lots of swatches, too?
