Clairefontaine 1951 Notebook And A Giveaway
03/09/2014Clairefontaine paper is always fountain pen-friendly and the 1951 notebook is no exception. Exaclair sent the red, cloth-bound version for review, but what do you say when something is perfect?

The Pilot Preras look and work especially well with the red cover and white paper. The images tell the tale.
My nibs and handwriting are large so the 0.8mm line spacing works fine though it might be a bit generous for some writers. When I wrote with extra-fine nibs and much smaller handwriting, I could write two lines in that space. Needless to say I got my money’s worth out of a notebook back then. I’m more of a paper snob these days and Clairefontaine’s smooth finish is just right for my stub and sharp italic nibs.

I would use my notebook for my Postcrossing addresses. I keep a chronological record of the addresses and postcards I share on the Postcrossing website; with some notes on the likes and dislikes of the recipients I have been assigned.

Oooo this notebook looks fantastic! I would definitely use it for journaling so all my inks could look fabulous on the Clairefontaine white paper. Plus, I like a larger journal, so A5 is great!
First choice color would be Violet, second choice red.

I’d would use a blue or red 1951 notebook to write different ink and pen reviews as a reference for future additional purchases or gift ideas.

I’m starting a research project on the Rose Valley Utopian Community, and I would use it for my notes. I would have to go for red (red rose) 🙂

I didn’t realize that these came in a clothbound version! I like that. I am challenging myself to wake up early every morning and write. I would use it for that purpose. Color? I like them all. Surprise me. =)

I would use the 1951 to write my short stories. My handwriting is pretty small, so having that much space per line would enable me to have plenty of space for edits above and below the line using another ink color. Also, I would choose the blue 1951 because I prefer blue over anything and everything (very logical answer, I think, haha!)

I might use it to keep track of my incoming and outgoing penpal mail or as a daily journal. My favorite color at the moment is pink so a pink notebook would be lovely.

In a notebook with a red cover, I’d record all the fears I’ve ever had, even for fleeting moments, on the left-hand pages, then on the right hand pages I’d write the dreams & ambitions that took me past the fears.

A beautiful notebook and if it’s great with Fountain pens, I’d use it for this coming year’s journal. I think turquoise would be lovely too since that is my color I choose for everything.
If I don’t win the contest, I will be looking into these. So nice. I love journaling with a fountain pen, words come out so much better, and composition books tend to bleed through.

I would use a black notebook to continue working on my first novel. The black has a classic look to it and Clairefontaine paper makes my pens and pencils sing. It would make writing the novel easier!

I like to carry some kind of pad or notebook on me every day to keep lists, thoughts, tasks, ideas, goals, etc….the black 1951 would be a major upgrade from the UglyDoll and Mead Fat Lil’ Notebook I’ve been known to pocket these days.

I’m an orchestra conductor. When I study scores, I write all my thoughts down in a journal. “Violins should play out here, Trumpets should sound ‘Doomy,'” etc.
I like to use fancy notebooks. It makes me feel like my contribution is important.

I am a “Board Certified” FP nut and I was just in the process of ordering a Prera pen. I would be thrilled with any color, but I think that a rich blue ink might look good in the bluee color or black perhaps. I need to start a new journal since I am going through a major life transition due to illness. I think that this would be just the ticket. Thanks for the great offer…

I would use any of the colors to write out lesson plans for my Spanish classes. I love handwriting what I plan to do. I think that I’m more creative and more attentive to the details for a particular lesson if I handwrite it, and particularly if I write with a good pen on excellent paper.

I would definitely use a 1951 Clairfontaine notebook as a daily repository for Android application design ideas. And since I am a simple, straight-laced kinda gal, this notebook in basic black would suit me just fine!

Well, red coral is the color that is the best for me. I would use it to brighten up boring meetings. A good pen and nice paper are the only way to make it to the end sometimes.

I have recently rekindled my interest in fountain pens. I am planning on purchasing a new pen soon and this notebook would be a nice addition to that purchase. It is hard to find good notebooks that don’t bleed through the pages.
I would use this notebook to start doing some daily journaling. I have been wanting to do that for sometime, and I thought that with a new pen that might inspire me to get started.
