Tips For Diluting Fountain Pen Ink

The extent of my experience with diluting fountain pen ink goes only so far as leaving an errant drop of water in the feed. While the first few sentences may exhibit a faded appearance, color is at full strength shortly. Still there can be advantages to dilution with distilled water including economy and reduced drying time. Along with those advantages may come potential tradeoffs like reduced flow and lubrication. In some cases that will be a good thing. If not, S P. Colfer addresses remedies in a post at Fountain Pen Network. So make note if stretching your ink budget funds or modifying ink properties sound intriguing.
