Nan Rae Greeting Cards and Prints

11/29/2009

If you want something elegant and unique to send your friends and family this holiday season, my friend, renowned artist Nan Rae, has lots of greeting cards at her website. Not that she’s limited her collection to holidays only. There are cards for all sorts of occasions as well as blank ones for a more personal touch.

Nan also offers a variety of gorgeous watercolor prints that would make lovely gifts especially for non-pen friends. It can be so hard to come up with gifts for the poor dears. Pen friends are easy to shop for but that will be the subject of a different post.

Another idea is to frame one of her greeting cards as a present. I’ve done that before and received much appreciation for it.

Oh, if you were wondering how this relates to ink, pen and paper, Nan uses a Montblanc fountain pen. So she is one of us.

For diehard fountain pen users, here is a scan of some of some pen and ink duos on Nan’s card stock. Extra fine nibs work okay but broad nibs lay down too much ink for the textured surface.

  2. Thanks for mentioning these, and for the writing sample! I bought a bunch of singles and a pack of Christmas cards. The cards take fountain pen ink (Iroshizuku Shin-ryoku) very well.

    • Thanks for the feedback. I just ordered Shin-ryoku which looks perfect for Christmas cards. Glad it worked so well for you.
