Diamine Kelly Green

Kelly Green has grown on me. I really thought it would be too vivid. Not that all of my inks are subtle but Kelly sounds so colorful in an Irish green sort of way.

Still over the last couple of weeks, I’ve given it some use and now can give it a much more enthusiastic recommendation than previously. It is a very clear ink with both shading and outlining. In fact I was quite surprised when I returned to my earliest samples to discover that many letters had dark green outlines, very tiny but perfectly surrounding the brighter Kelly green. Both characteristics score very highly for me.

Diamine makes a lot of inks worth owning and the quality is consistently high. So I expected at least that much from Kelly. What I didn’t expect was to find a great substitute for red ink (my least favorite ink color) where a color with lots of punch is needed. I’ve never edited with green before but this ink will do very nicely indeed.
