My new notebook is scary!

2009/05/08

Ever been at a loss over how to utilize that terrific new notebook? Afraid you’ll make a mess of it? Relax. It’s your notebook and it will hang on your every word. Honest!

However, if you are hesitant, ink and pen tests on the back few pages are an easy way to get started. Fun, too. Plus you’ll know which ones are best suited to your new paper.

Now ready to put pen to paper for real? The Flickr group Pretty Sketchy ought to get your wheels turning. They make getting thoughts down on paper into a road map of ideas.

Even if starting a new notebook isn’t off-putting, it’s good to try new things. Pretty Sketchy might be just the inspiration you need to break out of your usual and into the unusual.

Remember, it’s your journal. In it you can do no wrong. Now where else can you say that’s true.

Turning your journal into a thing of beauty

2009/03/21

Not thrilled with the plain cover of your journal? Think that cardboard binder is too flimsy? Here’s a little peak at a homemade improvement that tops any store bought cover by miles. You’ll have to click the link to Shanti Marie’s blog to see the whole story but it’s worth it. Frankly, I was gobsmacked and hope you will be, too.
